Just a quick note here.....we finished our Mass Effect Legion dress! This was an original creation based off and inspired by the art work of Deviant Artist Fizzybopper. fizzybopper.deviantart.com/art…
The artwork was beautiful and inspired us to create a comfortable, yet stylish, cosplay related dress to wear at conventions when you really need to relax and get out of the armor for awhile. We started with Fizzybopper's artwork and made a few cosplay inspired changes. We replaced the bow at the waist with a hole in the dress and then inserted some sparkly, reflective material and mounted some twinkly lights behind the hole. This represents the hole and lights Legion has in his side. We added some tubes and wires in various places (neck and waist), an LED light was inserted in the neck piece (to represent his "eye"), and we even made a spine that lights up :)  We also changed the sleeve from the poofy one in the artwork to an elongated one (like in Game of Thrones, lol) and added the Mass Effect red and white stripes down the sleeve.  All in all we are pretty happy with how it came out, plus it is very comfy!
We would like to thank Fizzybopper for giving us the inspiration and creating some beautiful dress ideas, without her work this would not have been possible!
Check out Fizzybopper's art work, and check out our Mass Effect album too!

We are a family that cosplays together. We make all our own props and cosplay costumes. We do leather working, make chain mail, create our own patterns and make every attempt to be 100% accurate to whatever we happen to be cosplaying as.

Wendy and Jay function on this account while Courtney has her own account which is linked below.

Courtney's D.A - :iconmercerhitsuji:

We will take commissions and if you want us to make you a cosplay or some wicked props just drop us a line! We shall be glad to do it.

+ Jay : He is the main prop man. If you want a badass weapon that lights up and looks like it came straight out of the video game he is your man.

+ Wendy : She is the woman you want to go to if you want some cosplay clothes. Say you want to look like the Nurse from Silent Hill. She will be the one making the clothing. She is your momma' when you need some wicked clothing

+ Courtney : She is the little runt of the family. She does a little bit of everything. She learns how to make props from Jay and helps him when she can and when she isn't doing that she is learning how to sew from her mom, Wendy. She is the one you go to if you want some special effects makeup done. Say you want the mask the nurses wear from Silent Hill hm? She will be the one making the mask. She is also the one you will mainly see in all the pictures. :meow:

When making a life cast you can make it all one piece. It really just depends on how much of a head you want to work with after. Our alginate life cast we concentrated on just her head mostly. When we redid it in Smooth-on's Body Double we did her head and as far down the shoulders as we had material for. When you cast the final life cast that you are keeping, just make sure you have enough materials on hand to fill the entire mold. With alginate you won't get a second chance to cast it later!

I can't remember if I ever dropped back by to say a proper thank you for the help with my son's costume... Soooo, yea, I'm doing it now.

THANK YOU!

You can take a look at the end results here: [link] He loved the costume and we're going to be hanging it on the wall at our new house.

You did drop me a brief note, but now there's a link with awesome pics to look at! Nice work!! So excited to see a future cosplayer in the makings.
My kids rooms look like something from a house of horror; mannequins and Styrofoam heads with gory costumes all over the place, over sized knives and blades scattered here and there, lol, so I totally understand the whole "hang it up on the wall" thing!
Thanks for sharing this and good luck on your future works! Feel free to stop by and ask any questions, any time :)

I'm trying to get together my son's costume for Halloween, he wants to be pyramid head. I was wondering what material you used on the sides to imitate the steel mesh.

thank you!

Oh!
Thank you very much. I'll have to post his pictures when it's all done. LOL The helmet is killing me especially since I have to make it really small.
